Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 months general experience for GS-02 or high school diploma
- Minimum of 6 months general experience for GS-03
- Completed 1-year dental assistant or hygiene program or practical nurse training for GS-03
- Minimum 6 months general experience plus 6 months specialized experience for GS-04
- Completed 2-year dental assistant or hygiene program for GS-04
- Radiological certification or competency proof for GS-03 and GS-04
- Meet qualification requirements within 30 days of announcement closing
- Federal Competitive Service time-in-grade requirement for merit promotion candidates
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of dental assistant training program preferred
- Experience in dental assisting or related clinical support role
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Ability to handle radiographic equipment and certified in radiological health and safety for applicable grades
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Familiarity with clinic administrative duties and record-keeping
Job Duties
- Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures
- Set up and prepare instruments and equipment for dental services
- Record treatments and maintain accurate patient records
- Perform receptionist duties including patient check-in and scheduling
- Expose and process digital oral x-rays following safety protocols
- Maintain clinic sterilization and infection control standards
- Assist with clinic maintenance and inventory management
