Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs
- able to raise a tray weighing up to 25 lbs to shoulder height
- able to bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grab
- must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in work area
- must be able to stand and walk during a 4 to 8 hour shift
- must be able to hear well in a loud environment
- must meet health regulations pertaining to food handling
- must be able to observe and differentiate monetary denominations
- must be able to serve all Denny's menu products
- must be able to operate point of sale system
- must be able to work around potentially hazardous chemicals
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- possesses excellent guest service skills
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- able to work in a team environment
- meets Denny's uniform and grooming standards
- able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- dependable with ability to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
- places value on diversity and shows respect for others
- able to pass required tests and training for the position
Job Duties
- Greet guests immediately upon arrival and acknowledge them at departure
- assist with guest seating using proper rotation and arrival order
- take and deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner
- suggestively sell menu items to achieve guest check average targets
- accurately enter orders into the point of sale system
- prepare beverage orders and some appetizers, salads, and desserts
- check orders for completeness and presentation
- attend to guests courteously throughout the dining experience
- pre-bus, clear, clean, and preset tables promptly
- address guest complaints and requests courteously and notify supervisors as needed
- demonstrate safe cash handling and accurately complete transactions
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room and service area
- comply with Denny's brand standards and internal policies
- assist other service personnel as needed to provide total guest satisfaction
