Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime
  • Ability to stand, reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, balance and lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle fluctuating temperatures and exposure to second hand tobacco smoke
  • Capable of working in a moderate noise environment

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years culinary experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Strong math skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and interpret graphs
  • Ability to interact with guests and staff to resolve conflicts diplomatically
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals
  • Ability to qualify for required licenses and permits
  • ServSafe certification
  • ServSafe Alcohol training certification

Job Duties

  • Provide guidance and daily supervision to back-of-house buffet staff
  • Support and administer operational goals
  • Monitor achievement of performance and profit objectives
  • Coordinate scheduling and address scheduling concerns
  • Ensure food preparation area is clean, well-stocked, and operating smoothly
  • Support compliance with departmental budgets
  • Promote superior customer service and address service issues
  • Monitor cost control methods including pars and inventory
  • Assist Sous Chef with administrative duties
  • Maintain quality assurance procedures to meet health and service standards
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality in all company matters
  • Manage work procedures and expedite workflow
  • Provide coaching and counseling to team members
