Job Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old
- Possess a proper and valid driver's license
- Have a driving record that meets company policy criteria for an Authorized Driver
- Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
- Pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before hiring and every two years during employment
- Follow all company safety and operational rules
Job Qualifications
- Be familiar with laws and regulations governing vehicle operation including Department of Transportation standards
- Understand and apply safety precautions in warehouse and material handling environments
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers
- Remain calm and effective in stressful, unexpected, or emergency situations
- Learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment
- Learn and operate computer systems used in the delivery process
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Job Duties
- Operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules, applicable laws, and regulations
- Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered and secure the load properly
- Understand and review shipping documents to ensure order accuracy and have accurate directions
- Unload correct merchandise from the truck at delivery sites and obtain legible signatures
- Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries
- Work with customers at delivery sites to quickly resolve shipping discrepancies
- Inspect the truck and required parts for safe operating condition prior to departure
- Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck
- Complete daily vehicle inspection reports when necessary
- Remove keys from the truck and store them properly at the end of the workday
- Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors and management
