Job Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old
- Possess a proper and valid driver's license
- Have a driving record meeting company policy criteria for Authorized Driver
- Pass Department of Transportation physical examination before employment and every two years thereafter
- Be safety conscious and detail-oriented
- Be able to work independently
- Have good customer service skills
Job Qualifications
- Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs as a non-CDL driver
- Know laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles and commercial motor vehicles subject to DOT regulations
- Know and practice safety precautions in warehouse and material handling environments
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers
- Remain calm and function effectively in stressful or emergency situations
- Learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment
- Learn and operate computer systems used in delivery processes
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Job Duties
- Operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules, applicable laws, and regulations
- Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered, ensuring the load is secured properly
- Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to each delivery destination
- Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy
- Unload correct merchandise and obtain legible signatures per company policy
- Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries
- Work with customers to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately
- Load the truck at other locations with merchandise, including pickups and returns
- Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses
- Inspect the truck and accessories for safe operating condition before departure
- Keep the truck clean of debris
- Advise management of mechanical problems
- Complete Driver's Daily Vehicle Inspection Report if required
- Remove keys and store in approved location at end of workday
- Complete required safety and compliance training
- Perform other related duties as assigned
