Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • one year of driving experience with heavy-duty trucks or large vans
  • valid state driver’s license
  • valid DOT medical card
  • ability to read and follow maps or written directions
  • ability to communicate in English with the public
  • ability to follow DOT and safety regulations
  • physical ability to lift, bend, reach, and carry heavy objects over 100 pounds
  • willingness to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
  • commitment to support the religious mission of The Salvation Army

Job Qualifications

  • one year of experience driving heavy-duty trucks or large vans
  • ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • knowledge of assigned geographical area
  • ability to organize routes and schedules efficiently
  • ability to work with diverse personalities positively
  • valid state driver’s license
  • valid DOT medical card

Job Duties

  • Operate the vehicle within state and federal statutes and guidelines
  • read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public
  • acquire pick-up tickets and complete routes efficiently
  • load donations in an organized manner to prevent damage and maximize pickups
  • clean and secure the vehicle and equipment
  • conduct daily vehicle inspections including oil, water, and tires
  • follow DOT regulations and safety standards
