Job Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license to operate company vehicles
- Current medical certification
- Clean driving record
- Ability to perform all aspects of the job accurately and efficiently while providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic and safety regulations
- Ability to lift occasionally between 10 to 100 pounds from floor to waist
- Ability to occasionally lift 10 to 25 pounds above waist
- Ability to occasionally carry 10 to 25 pounds unilaterally and bilaterally
- Ability to sit continuously, walk frequently, stand occasionally, and perform various physical activities like bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, handling, and fingering throughout the workday
- Ability to work safely in varying weather and temperature conditions
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screenings including criminal background check, motor vehicle record check and drug testing as applicable
Job Qualifications
- Two years of work experience preferred
- Prior warehouse distribution experience including forklift operation and knowledge of electrical products/systems is preferred
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license to operate company vehicles
- Current medical certification
- Clean driving record
- Working knowledge of PC for Windows and Internet
- Experience with SAP software is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to effectively plan and organize
- Strong customer service skills with competence, accuracy, responsiveness and engagement
Job Duties
- Provide delivery of material to Border States branches and customer sites based on business needs
- Maintain delivery vehicle in clean and good working condition and monitor maintenance and mileage data if required
- Provide for regular maintenance and cleaning of vehicles
- Schedule DOT/state mandated inspection visits as required
- Maintain daily driver logs and vehicle inspection sheets
- Complete truck summary, driver’s log and other backup detail daily, pay truck expenses and update appropriate records as appropriate
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic and safety regulations
- Understand truck routes and coordinate deliveries with own trucks, assigned freight companies or other carriers based on special requests or efficient shipping
- Load and unload material at the branch and customer locations
- Perform warehouse functions including order filling, stocking shelves, processing returns, receiving and shipping as needed
- Assist with other duties or projects assigned by supervisor or manager
- Conduct Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) as part of daily route
- Check and pack material to be delivered
- Maintain shipping equipment and keep work area clean and safe
- Assist the City Desk and Will Call areas in customer service functions including order entry, filling orders, processing returns, expediting, technical assistance and other functions as needed
