Job Requirements

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Basic math skills including counting, addition, and subtraction
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with associates and promote teamwork
  • Establish performance goals and empower associates
  • Develop scheduling strategies for customer volume
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Create welcoming customer environments
  • Develop and execute department business plans
  • Implement and communicate sales promotions
  • Maintain inventory and stock conditions
  • Schedule price changes and promotional signage
  • Monitor department expenses
  • Train associates on inventory and ordering systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain temperature logs
  • Report safety risks and illegal activities
  • Supervise, coach, and conduct performance reviews
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Leadership experience or ability to supervise and coach team members
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance
  • Ability to develop and implement business and sales plans

Job Duties

  • Complete a 4-12 week training program comprising internal and external phases
  • Travel within the division to provide training and relief support
  • Create exceptional customer experiences through outstanding service and maintaining a clean, safe environment
  • Achieve department sales and profit goals while monitoring quality assurance standards
  • Direct and supervise all departmental functions, duties, and activities
  • Support daily deli operations by promoting freshness and friendliness
  • Demonstrate Kroger's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety
