Job Requirements
- Less than high school or equivalent experience
- six months or less of similar or related work experience
- ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- proficiency in basic math involving fractions, decimals and percentages
- physical ability to perform medium work including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and performing various physical activities such as standing, walking, stooping, kneeling
- ability to maintain personal hygiene and dress standards
- punctuality and reliable attendance
- willingness to adhere to company policies and safety procedures
- successful completion of pre-employment drug screen

Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
- smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store
- makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible
- assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests, performing other tasks to enhance shopping experience
- answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking customer orders
- takes customer orders at the delicatessen counter
- works with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- reviews orders for the day
- understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures work area is always clean and neat
- reviews food status and appearance for freshness
- ensures adequate food supply is ready and follows a production list
- anticipates product needs daily
- prepares, finishes, and replenishes product as necessary
- checks in product, puts product away and may review invoices
- runs department registers, receives payment and makes change when applicable
- removes trash timely
- maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
- adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines
- reports to work when scheduled and on time
