Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Basic math skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and schedules
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- Ability to solve arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for the role
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service exhibiting caring, concern and patience
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner in all store interactions
- Make efforts to learn and address customers by name
- Assist customers by escorting to products, securing out of reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along suggestions
- Answer telephone promptly and provide helpful service including taking orders
- Take customer orders at the delicatessen counter
- Work as a team with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and pleasant work environment
- Review daily orders and status of food freshness
- Practice proper sanitation and maintain clean work area
- Prepare, finish and replenish products as necessary
- Check in and put away products and review invoices
- Operate department registers, handle payments and make change
- Remove trash timely
- Adhere to department and company personal hygiene and dress standards
- Follow company policies and report to work on time
