Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of line cook, sous chef or chef experience or three years of kitchen experience
  • Ability to lead a team effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Ability to manage inventory and prepare invoices
  • Willingness to train and develop staff
  • Ability to comply with company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of line cook, sous chef or chef experience required or three years of kitchen experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required, culinary degree preferred
  • Servesafe certification preferred
  • Knowledge of natural and conventional foods and the food industry preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred

Job Duties

  • Scheduling and directing activities of the deli staff including ensuring proper safety and sanitation procedures are followed
  • Leading deli service staff to ensure prep work is completed timely and correctly
  • Maintaining and recording inventory and stock levels of prepared foods
  • Reviewing and preparing department invoices and return vouchers
  • Training of newly hired staff in accordance with the deli training guide
  • Assisting in preparation, stocking and cleaning of food display and production stations
  • Compliance with established City Market procedures and practices regarding operations, sales, safety, and security
  • Performing related other duties as assigned
