Job Requirements

  • Willingness to be trained to Co-op kitchen standards
  • Ability to provide excellent, friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in learning about specialty and prepared foods
  • Ability to remain calm, prioritize, and problem solve under pressure
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to maintain a current food handler card
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to provide excellent face-to-face customer service
  • Interest in natural and organic grocery industry and specialty foods
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Food handler card or willingness to obtain and maintain one
  • Ability to learn and follow recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Capability to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining sanitation and workplace safety standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare soups, salads, entrees, and other deli items following recipes and portioning standards
  • Cook and prep food in accordance with safe food handling practices
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized workspaces during production
  • Assist with kitchen prep, cleanup, and general production support
  • Stock, rotate, and face deli items to ensure freshness and visual appeal
  • Ensure accurate signage, labeling, and pricing on products
  • Receive deliveries, verify invoicing, and store products properly
  • Maintain clean and organized back-stock areas
  • Assist with placing orders under management direction
  • Provide friendly and responsive customer service
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive kitchen culture
  • Communicate professionally with team members and supervisors
  • Stay informed on deli promotions and product knowledge
  • Support front-of-house operations including restocking and customer interaction
  • Uphold sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Co-op goals
