  • Ability to manage staff scheduling and payroll adherence

Job Duties

  • Greet and take care of every customer that enters the department
  • Address all customer requests and concerns in a timely manner
  • Order, price, and merchandise all deli/bakery items according to department standards
  • Ensure all deli/bakery products meet company freshness and preparation standards
  • Manage deli/bakery associates by allocating and assigning tasks based on business needs
  • Staff the department and partake in interviews for hiring
  • Schedule employees for the deli and bakery departments
  • Handle employee relations issues and partner with store manager and HR to address performance and conduct issues
  • Provide training to new hires and existing employees, and work to cross-train employees in and out of the department
  • Communicate store events, new products, and procedural changes to the deli/bakery team
  • Uphold company safety standards and teach safety protocols to employees
  • Ensure compliance with Illinois Health Code Rules and Regulations
  • Maintain broad knowledge of bakery/deli products
  • Monitor seasonal ordering needs and cooking trends
  • Analyze sales records and forecast numbers for staffing and ordering decisions
  • Write department schedules aligned with payroll budget
  • Manage department product loss and process all loss according to company policy
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
