Job Duties
- Greet and take care of every customer that enters the department
- Address all customer requests and concerns in a timely manner
- Order, price, and merchandise all deli/bakery items according to department standards
- Ensure all deli/bakery products meet company freshness and preparation standards
- Manage deli/bakery associates by allocating and assigning tasks based on business needs
- Staff the department and partake in interviews for hiring
- Schedule employees for the deli and bakery departments
- Handle employee relations issues and partner with store manager and HR to address performance and conduct issues
- Provide training to new hires and existing employees, and work to cross-train employees in and out of the department
- Communicate store events, new products, and procedural changes to the deli/bakery team
- Uphold company safety standards and teach safety protocols to employees
- Ensure compliance with Illinois Health Code Rules and Regulations
- Maintain broad knowledge of bakery/deli products
- Monitor seasonal ordering needs and cooking trends
- Analyze sales records and forecast numbers for staffing and ordering decisions
- Write department schedules aligned with payroll budget
- Manage department product loss and process all loss according to company policy
- Perform other related duties as assigned
