Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- ServeSafe certification (must obtain within 30 days of hire)
- minimum of 1 year experience managing a deli or other food service successfully
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- strong organizational and time management skills
- good interpersonal and team-building skills

Job Duties
- Understand and enforce all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- ensure all deli team members consistently follow these procedures
- promote customer satisfaction and foster customer loyalty through excellent service and quality products
- schedule and receive food deliveries
- checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity
- oversee food preparation methods, portion sizes, and presentation to ensure products meet company standards
- monitor departmental budgets and payroll
- review financial transactions to ensure spending aligns with approved budgets
- create staff schedules and assign daily duties to ensure efficient operations
- hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and provide corrective action for deli clerks as needed
- maintain retail pricing strategies to support overall profit goals
- keep records required by government agencies regarding sanitation, and food subsidies when appropriate
- investigate and resolve customer complaints related to food quality, service, or other deli concerns
- manage inventory of food and equipment
- maintain detailed inventory records
- assist with food preparation or service tasks as needed, including cooking, clearing, and serving
- support the Store Manager as needed, including taking on-call responsibilities
- ensure consistent quality of deli products through proper rotation, damage checks, and adherence to all food safety protocols
- plan menus and manage food utilization based on anticipated customer demand, taste, popularity, and cost-effectiveness
- perform other related duties as assigned
