Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or high school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience in customer service or related field
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, mass and volume
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Commitment to company values and customer orientation
- Computer literacy
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Frequent lifting and carrying of 50 lbs more than 12 times per hour
- Physical agility and manual dexterity
- Ability to stand and walk constantly
- Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, climb steps or ladder and kneel or squat
- Ability to work in cold and freezing temperature environments
- Willingness to follow safety protocols and equipment operational procedures

- Leadership and supervisory experience
Job Duties
- Ensure proper customer service and develop relationships with large customers
- Supervise all activities in the meat department including product placement, rotation, signage, and displays
- Oversee overall department appearance, cleanliness and adherence to government and corporate ordinances
- Develop schedules, monitor performance and recommend discipline
- Train employees in job responsibilities and safe operating procedures
- Interview candidates and recommend hires
- Discipline employees when necessary and recommend terminations
- Ensure employees perform proper inspections to meet HACCP regulations and conduct periodic audits
- Review inventory daily to prevent shrinkage and damages
- Ensure shelf pricing is correct and up-to-date
- Supervise receiving of meat products and complete paperwork
- Maintain accurate computer inventory levels with regular physical inventories and adjustments
- Maintain refrigerated equipment and ensure maintenance contracts are followed
- Supervise ordering of meat products to ensure competitive pricing and minimal spoilage
- Ensure employees can operate equipment such as scales and label machines
- Coordinate proper tagging and stacking of inventory
- Maintain cleanliness of the department area and manage trash removal
- Communicate low stock or out of stock information to the Inventory Controller
- Maintain correct signage and flyer price reflections
- Coordinate proper merchandising of aisles and impulse areas
- Perform additional duties and weekly self audits of the meat department
