Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- knowledge of computer systems and equipment such as PC, symbol, scales, label machine
- strong customer service skills

- completion of company orientation upon hire
- food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 55 lbs, standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling as required by department

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- performs department-specific tasks such as recording production and shrink (bakery), managing service counter and inventory (deli), and serving/packaging products with customer education (prepared foods)
- performs sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
