Job Requirements
- HS diploma or GED or equivalent
- knowledge of computer systems and equipment such as PC, symbol, scales, label machine

Job Duties
- provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed including basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- performs department-specific tasks such as recording production and shrink in bakery,taking care of service counter customers in deli,serving and packaging products in prepared foods
- performs inventory management processes
- ensures catering orders are prepared and ready for customer pickup
- performs all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods
- cuts, slices, dices, chops food in preparation for chef
