Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years leadership experience in restaurant, retail or project management
  • Experience in commercial cooking or baking preferably in deli, restaurant or natural foods
  • Knowledge of organic certification requirements
  • Experience in purchase, merchandising and pricing of prepared foods
  • Ability to follow through on systems and procedures
  • Analytical ability and proficiency in math
  • Customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple demands, work under time pressure and meet deadlines
  • Personal integrity to handle confidential information
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Regular, predictable attendance
  • Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 60 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, sit, balance and rotate body
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs, ladders and step stools
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use sharp cutting instruments safely
  • Ability to complete repetitive office tasks for up to eight hours per day
  • Effective vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception
  • Ability to operate machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks and balers
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions including wet, humid and exposure to food odors and allergens

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years leadership experience in restaurant, retail or project management
  • Experience in commercial cooking, baking or prepared foods production
  • Knowledge of organic and commercial growing practices
  • Experience supervising employees including interviewing, training and evaluating
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as email, Word and Excel
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and work under pressure
  • Effective communication skills in English

Job Duties

  • Manage deli department operations including selection, receipt, production, pricing, display and promotion of products
  • Hire, train, evaluate, coach and supervise deli department staff
  • Ensure department compliance with safety, sanitation and customer service standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of department facilities and equipment
  • Participate in storewide management and cross-promotional planning
  • Schedule and post employee hours to ensure adequate department coverage
  • Address and resolve customer concerns promptly
