Job Duties

  • Determine which recipes need to be made each day by consulting production sheets and current inventory
  • Strictly follow the system of documentation necessary to meet HACCP standards
  • Utilize efficient cooking techniques and knife skills
  • Deliver properly labeled, completed dishes to storage or customers as appropriate
  • Work the deli counter and keep deli cases stocked and attractive
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace
  • Maintain personal cleanliness including clean clothes, aprons, and person
  • Inquire about and integrate short dated items from other departments for use in deli specials
  • Understand cost of goods and margins as it pertains to recipe development
  • Buy product as needed
  • Communicate signage needs and work with management to promote deli offerings
  • Greet and offer assistance to customers
  • Treat people fairly, consistently and with respect
  • Know product locations in order to assist customers throughout the store
  • Abide by all co-op policies and procedures
  • Participate in required training and meetings
  • Keep the store orderly and clean
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor
