Job Duties

  • Uphold all Co-op policies, procedures, and expectations
  • exceed customers’ expectations for service and provide a welcoming environment
  • provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service that markets cooperative advantage
  • maintain calm and friendly demeanor with customers
  • ensure product displays are full, clean, and attractive
  • produce food products meeting quality and quantity standards
  • fulfill customer orders timely and accurately
  • replenish products consistently to ensure freshness
  • assist customers with product selections
  • taste food products as required
  • ensure accurate and sanitary product processing and labeling
  • maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, vendors, and products
  • follow procedures for price changes and signage
  • manage back stock and report shortages
  • check hot and cold food temperatures
  • maintain documentation for stations
  • prioritize time for prep, stocking, cleaning, and service
  • assist in bussing duties and keep dining areas clean
  • clean and maintain work areas and equipment
  • assist with dishwashing and assigned food service duties
  • follow procedures for processing loss, invoices, and transfers
  • rotate products using FIFO method
  • use equipment safely and as trained
  • check sanitation levels and report discrepancies
  • handle chemical and sanitation products properly
  • assist with food preparation including baking
  • adhere to scheduled shifts and dress code
  • maintain department signage and cleanliness
  • assist in inventory counts and storewide cleaning
  • attend meetings and events
  • communicate equipment repair needs
  • demonstrate cooperative values daily
  • perform other duties and work in other departments as assigned
  • uphold Employee Handbook
  • be available to work required hours
  • maintain California Food Handler’s Certification as requested
