Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to operate deli slicing and weighing equipment
- strong customer service skills
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends
- ability to stand and move for extended periods
- capable of lifting up to 30 pounds frequently
- willing to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
- good communication skills
- reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- Work experience in a deli department preferred
- prior experience operating manual/power slicers and scales preferred
- knowledge of deli products preferred
- at least 18 years of age
Job Duties
- Provide a high level of customer service to members
- answer questions and recommend deli items
- answer member calls and take special orders
- slice, package, and weigh deli products including cheeses and meats
- help members select the correct products
- sample product to assist in purchasing decisions
- prepare and package special orders and party trays
- receive and inspect deli shipments
- display, stock, rotate, and store deli products following food safety and product handling policies
- ensure all products are fresh and meet company quality standards
- check for out-of-date products daily and follow salvage policies
- ensure deli cooler shelves and display cases have a wide variety of product
- stock and rotate deli items when necessary
- operate deli equipment safely according to policies
- clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces
- ensure scale systems are in working order for accurate pricing
- maintain all club policies and procedures
- perform other duties as assigned including working in other departments
- maintain regular, predictable, full attendance
