Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18 years
- able to stand, walk, and bend throughout the workday
- capable of lifting up to 30 pounds
- willing to work weekend shifts including Sundays as applicable
- comply with food safety and sanitation standards
- able to perform repetitive motions and maintain hand-eye coordination
- able to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach
- able to hear and respond to customer inquiries
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in deli or food service preferred
- strong communication and customer service skills
- ability to work flexible schedules including weekends
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- teamwork and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising the department's deli products
- maintain high standards for product freshness, cleanliness, and sanitation
- inform guests about our deli products and services
- help increase sales by handing out food samples and recommending additional items to guests
- possess sufficient knowledge and ability to teach others the fundamentals of deli production including mixing, scaling, slicing, cooking, frying and finishing
- maintain a high-level of coordination and communication with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of products and service throughout the store and within the deli operation
- maintain adequate and appropriate department records at all times
- demonstrate maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior
