Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
  • Able to lift and carry products weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Able to stand for up to 4 hours continuously for 8 hours per shift
  • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties
  • Operate deli equipment safely
  • Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • Able to work in cooler and freezer environments

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Display outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • Have the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have good communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Be able to lift/carry products weighing up to 70 lbs
  • Be able to stand continuously up to 4 hours for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • Perform general housekeeping
  • Operate deli equipment safely
  • Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • Work in different temperature environments

Job Duties

  • Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing fresh and easy meals
  • Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain cleanliness of the deli department area
  • Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays
  • Prepare special orders and party trays
  • Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment according to company standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment including cleaning shelves and floors
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy, temperature, and quality
