Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18 years
- Weekend shifts required including Sundays as applicable
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the entire workday
- Capability to lift and maneuver objects up to 30 pounds
- Willingness to work in hot and cold environments
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Effective communication skills
- Compliance with all safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in deli or food service preferred
- Knowledge of deli production techniques
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to operate deli equipment safely
- Basic math skills for weighing and pricing
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends
Job Duties
- Responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising the department's deli products
- Maintain high standards for product freshness, cleanliness, and sanitation
- Inform guests about our deli products and services
- Deli clerk's help increase sales by handing out food samples and by recommending additional items to guests
- Possess sufficient knowledge and ability to teach others the fundamentals of deli production, including mixing, scaling, slicing, cooking, frying and finishing
- Maintain a high-level of coordination and communication with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of products and service throughout the store and within the deli operation
- Maintain adequate and appropriate department records at all times
- Demonstrate maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior
