Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • be dependable and reliable
  • have an outgoing friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • have good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team environment
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs horizontally and vertically without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours
  • be able to stand for up to 4 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation including cleaning tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler, and freezer
  • operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment and maintain safe working condition
  • adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • be able to work in cooler and freezer temperature environments
  • perform other related duties as assigned

Job Duties

  • prepare fresh and easy meals for customers
  • provide high level of customer service in the deli department
  • arrange vegetables and sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches
  • assist customers with catering orders
  • maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • operate deli equipment and maintain its safe working condition
  • perform general housekeeping and cleaning tasks in the deli area
