Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older
- Hornbacher's age requirement for this role is 18 years of age or older
- ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- reliable transportation to and from work
- ability to comply with all health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in a deli or food service environment preferred but not required
- strong customer service and communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- basic math skills for weighing and labeling products
- knowledge of food safety standards a plus
- flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Slice, weigh, package, and label meat and cheese products for guests
- prepare and dish up salads
- serve food to guests through the hot case as applicable
- ensure the deli case and product areas are stocked with merchandise and visually appealing
- prepare meat and cheese trays, veggie trays, and other department products to be merchandised and sold in the store
- follow food safety guidelines and all health, safety and sanitation regulations
- perform additional duties such as dish washing, mixing ingredients, assembling catering orders, baking and frying products as needed
