Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • dependable and reliable
  • outgoing, friendly behavior with positive attitude
  • ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as business demands
  • good communication skills
  • able to answer phones and take special orders
  • able to lift or carry products up to 70 lbs horizontally or vertically for up to 4 hours
  • stand continuously up to 4 hours and for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • perform housekeeping and sanitation tasks
  • operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely
  • adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • able to work in cooler and freezer environments
  • perform other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field
  • ability to interact positively with customers and team members
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • capable of operating deli equipment safely
  • possess food handlers permit or ability to obtain one

Job Duties

  • Prepare fresh and easy meals in the deli department
  • provide high-level customer service answering questions and taking special orders
  • assemble made-to-order sandwiches and arrange deli products attractively
  • maintain food safety and sanitation standards in the deli area
  • operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment while ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition
  • perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning tables, floors, and work surfaces
  • assist customers with catering orders and product selection
