Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18 years
- Ability to stand, walk and bend throughout the workday
- Capability to lift and move items up to 30 pounds
- Availability to work weekend shifts including Sundays
- Must comply with food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch and reach
- Good hearing to respond to customer inquiries
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous deli or food service experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with hand-eye coordination
- Basic math skills for pricing and weighing products
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
Job Duties
- Prepare, slice, wrap, weigh, price, and merchandise deli products
- Maintain high standards for product freshness, cleanliness, and sanitation
- Inform guests about deli products and services
- Increase sales by handing out food samples and recommending additional items
- Teach others fundamentals of deli production including mixing, scaling, slicing, cooking, frying and finishing
- Maintain coordination and communication with other departments
- Keep adequate and appropriate department records
- Demonstrate customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior
