Job Requirements
- be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- be able to lift and carry products weighing up to 70 lbs for distances up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours
- be able to stand continuously for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift
- perform housekeeping and sanitation duties including cleaning tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler and freezer
- operate food preparation equipment safely and maintain equipment in safe working condition
- adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and maintain a Food Handlers permit
- be able to work in different temperature environments including cooler and freezer
- perform other related duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent
- have experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- be dependable and reliable
- have an outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- have good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
Job Duties
- prepare fresh and easy meals for customers
- provide excellent customer service in the deli department
- arrange vegetables and sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches
- assist customers with catering orders
- maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment
- perform general housekeeping duties in the deli area
