Job Requirements
- Prior deli service experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills
- Basic math proficiency
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Customer-focused attitude
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service deli operations or retail grocery environments is preferred
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques sanitation practices and food safety regulations
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling making change and inventory management
- Previous experience working in quick service or fast-food restaurants is a plus
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to serving bussing and food handling ensures compliance with safety protocols
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli items including slicing meats and cheeses assembling sandwiches and maintaining product freshness
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions including cash handling and credit card processing
- Assist customers with selections answer questions about products and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area including food handling and sanitation protocols
- Restock shelves organize displays and ensure proper labeling of products
- Uphold food safety standards according to health regulations and company policies
- Clean work areas as needed to ensure a clean environment
- Upsell products by suggesting additional items or promotions to enhance customer experience and sales
