Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree or culinary school degree or equivalent professional culinary training
  • minimum 5 years of food industry experience
  • hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
  • knowledge of USDA, FDA, and local/state food compliance
  • ability to manage food and labor costs effectively
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to work in physically demanding kitchen environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to lead and train culinary teams
  • commitment to company’s customer service standards

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in the food industry with diverse cuisine levels
  • bachelor’s degree or culinary school degree or relevant certifications
  • deep knowledge of cooking, recipe development, sourcing, quality assurance, scaling, and production
  • hands-on experience with kitchen equipment such as grills, rotisserie, and fryers
  • knowledge of USDA, FDA, city/state regulations and compliance standards
  • experience with budget management and cost optimization
  • proven track record of improving bottom line growth
  • ability to develop key components with third parties
  • effective execution of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • strong leadership and employee development skills

Job Duties

  • Study recipes
  • set up menus and prepare high-quality dishes
  • delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation
  • ensure compliance with sanitation regulations
  • execute concepts and support fresh food experience expansion
  • monitor and maintain food and labor cost goals
  • provide quality control and execution oversight from prep to plating
  • ensure efficient procurement for culinary menus
  • enforce a strong food safety program exceeding local and state requirements
  • drive culinary promotions, store, and community events
  • manage kitchen organization, cleanliness, and food safety
  • train culinary employees to perform job functions properly
  • manage FDA food nutritional labeling compliance
  • foster cooperative working climate and maximize employee productivity
  • lead by example with fairness, consistency, and approachability
  • provide feedback, training, and leadership to develop employee skills
  • complete onboarding and training for new kitchen and service line employees
  • support by completing additional management-identified tasks and assisting other departments
