Job Requirements
- must be at least 18 years of age or older
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
- willingness to work in hot and cold environments for deli kitchens and walk-ins
- ability to follow safety protocols and store policies
Job Qualifications
- previous experience in deli bakery or food service environment is a plus but not required
- ability to operate kitchen equipment such as mixers slicers and fryers safely and efficiently
- strong customer service skills with ability to interact positively with customers and team members
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- prepare and display deli and bakery items including baked goods deli meats cheeses sandwiches and pastries
- operate mixers ovens fryers slicers and scales for product preparation and portioning
- ice pastries decorate cakes and fill display cases with fresh products
- wrap price and label items accurately for purchase
- greet and assist customers with their selections providing recommendations and answering questions
- operate cash register to process transactions accurately and efficiently
- maintain cleanliness and organization of work area following food safety guidelines
- follow proper handling storage and sanitation procedures to ensure product safety and quality
- clean equipment and work surfaces regularly
- ensure equipment is used and maintained properly following safety rules
- assist management and team members with restocking organizing inventory and preparing promotional displays
- collaborate with team members to ensure smooth department operations
