Job Description

Parkhurst Dining is a family-owned and operated company specializing in culinary, dining, and catering services. The role offered is a Deli Cook position with a steady Monday through Friday schedule, no weekend shifts, providing a predictable work-life balance. Compensation ranges from $15 to $16 per hour, dependent on experience. As a Deli Cook at Parkhurst Dining, you will be responsible for preparing quality deli menu items according to company standards and strict sanitary guidelines. This includes preparing food items to order promptly while maintaining the presentation, temperature, and taste expected by Parkhurst. You will also prepare the service line under the direction of the Executive Chef or Manager and ensure it remains appropriately garnished throughout service.

This position involves close interaction with guests, requiring a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor aligned with the Smile Plus Hospitality Imperatives. Signing, merchandising the service area, operating and cleaning deli equipment, and following daily prep schedules for upcoming meals—including box lunches and catering orders—are essential responsibilities. You must also adhere to a cleaning schedule and 'clean as you go' method to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Effective communication with management for inventory and supply needs, maintaining the uniform and personal hygiene standards, assisting team members, and following the Parkhurst Hospitality Gold Standards are vital components of this role. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation or deli work preferred
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday with no weekends
  • Reliable and punctual

Job Duties

  • Prepare all Deli items to order and in a timely manner
  • Prepare service line for operation as instructed by Executive Chef and/or Manager on duty
  • Check quality of food items ensuring standards of taste, appearance, and correct temperature
  • Interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner following Smile Plus Hospitality Imperatives
  • Post necessary signage and merchandise service area
  • Follow production sheets for proper serving utensils
  • Operate and clean all equipment used
  • Complete prep for following meal including box lunches or catering
  • Follow cleaning schedule using clean as you go techniques
  • Maintain open communication with management regarding products and supplies needed
  • Follow uniform dress code and maintain personal hygiene
  • Follow all Parkhurst Hospitality Gold Standards
  • Assist fellow team members as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
