Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in cake decorating or bakery production preferred
- Availability to work Sundays
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and maintain cleanliness
- Basic math skills necessary for recipe measurements
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members and customers
- Must meet production standards within six months
- Must adhere to company safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- Knowledgeable of cake building and decorating techniques
- Familiar with pricing and quality standards of various cake orders and decorating styles
- Proficient in the use of cake decorating tools including knives
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Creative with a keen eye for detail and color distinction
- Good manual dexterity and mathematical skills for recipe following
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional demeanor and proactive problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask, organize work, and adhere to deadlines
- Experience in customer service within a bakery or food environment is preferred
Job Duties
- Decorate, build and ice custom cakes and other treats as specified by order slip
- Place finished products carefully on racks for cooling, wrapping, and storage
- Use specific decorating tools including various knives
- Maintain a clean and debris-free work area following bakery safety and security procedures
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for technique and quality
- Clean and sanitize all equipment as per Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Assist with other bakery duties and in other departments as needed
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with co-workers and managers
- Display professional behavior, assist colleagues, and proactively solve problems
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines independently
- Work effectively within a team to ensure quality bakery products and great customer service
- Achieve production standards of icing sixteen 7-inch cakes and twelve quarter sheet cakes per hour within six months
- Be available to work Sundays
