Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain it
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Compliance with all Fresco y Mas policies and procedures
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- Must be a floating position capable of traveling at least 80 percent of the time
- Ability to work varied shifts including days, afternoons, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to carry, push, lift up to 100 pounds
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing and walking continuously
- Availability to work in various environmental conditions including indoor, outdoor, cold, heat, and humidity
- Strong safety awareness and willingness to use personal protective equipment
- Willingness to travel to assigned stores within coverage area
- Ability to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Proficiency in English required
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
- Basic math knowledge
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters, and price guns according to company guidelines
- Competent with computer applications used in effective department operations
- Food safety certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of placement
- Previous supervisory experience 0-3 years is preferred
Job Duties
- Create an environment where customers feel welcomed, important, and appreciated to increase customer confidence and loyalty
- Ensure the department is merchandised according to plan
- Provide daily conditions that meet company expectations for product availability, freshness, quality, and value on the shelf
- Offer product samples, answer product questions, and assist customers in finding or suggesting products
- Fulfill customer requests and special orders
- Maintain an efficient and organized method for receiving and processing customer orders
- Decorate merchandise according to customer requests ensuring satisfaction with all products
- Use decorating kits and freehand decorating skills to prepare a variety of quality baked products
- Perform daily and weekly tasks such as communications and online training
- Process and bake merchandise according to production guidelines
- Test products to ensure quality assurance
- Review product quality for expiration dates and take necessary actions
- Consult production schedules to determine the variety and quantity of products to bake
- Receive and unload delivery trucks and store products in designated areas
- Store and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control
- Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain low supply cost
- Maintain knowledge of inventory/storage conditions and report discrepancies
- Follow production planning tools to produce fresh products accurately and ensure discard or markdown processes to reduce losses
- Maintain product temperature as per food safety guidelines and document temperature records
- Promote trust and respect among associates through collaboration, teamwork promotion, and communication of company, department, and job information
- Guide and empower the team to meet or exceed objectives
- Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Maintain company standards in safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity
- Adhere to regulatory compliance requirements related to food safety, USDA, COOL, and DOA labeling
- Execute product recalls promptly ensuring items are protected and removed from customer access
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting and reporting unsafe conditions to management
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
- Report all safety hazards, illegal activities including theft, pilferage, or fraud
- Ensure wage and hour policies and regulations compliance
- Foster a culture of safety within the store
- Ensure all associates work safely and have received necessary safety training
- Ensure hazard assessments are posted and personal protective equipment is available and used as needed
- Maintain equipment in good condition and assist with hazard remediation
- Perform other related duties as assigned
