Job Duties

  • Locate and pull merchandise by matching item codes and numbers on the pick ticket against part number on the merchandise
  • place merchandise in tote or stage bulk items in the appropriate area
  • mark tote by customer number and send down the conveyor when the order is complete
  • ensure totes are labeled correctly and do not exceed weight limit
  • maintain standards for accuracy and productivity when picking orders
  • consolidate and pack stock order merchandise quickly and accurately
  • itemize products not shipped in totes on the freight bill
  • operate handheld computers and voice picking equipment
  • check items off freight bill as they are loaded
  • load trucks quickly and accurately
  • tie and secure freight on the truck
  • keep picking zones supplied with totes and repair as needed
  • start printers and sort tickets and labels
  • operate equipment for outbound functions
  • keep the work area clean and dispose of trash properly
  • serve as a trainer if experienced, ensuring training is conducted according to schedule
  • maintain safety standards and identify unsafe practices
  • perform all other duties as assigned
