Job Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and match numbers and letters quickly and accurately
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
  • Previous work experience in a similar warehouse environment desired
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
  • Ability to operate handheld computers and voice picking equipment
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures
  • Able to lift and carry items up to 60 lbs
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Basic proficiency with warehouse technology such as RF units or voice picking devices

Job Duties

  • Locate and pull merchandise by matching item codes and numbers on the pick ticket against part number on the merchandise
  • Place merchandise in tote or stage bulk items in the appropriate area
  • Mark the tote by customer number and send down the conveyor when order is complete
  • Ensure all totes are labeled for the correct store and do not exceed 60 lbs
  • Maintain DC standards for accuracy and productivity when picking orders
  • Consolidate and pack all stock order merchandise quickly and accurately
  • Itemize products not shipped in totes on the freight bill
  • Maintain proper documentation on freight bills including hazardous materials
  • Operate handheld computers and/or voice picking equipment
  • Check items off the freight bill as they are loaded
  • Load trucks quickly and accurately and tie and secure freight
  • Keep picking zones supplied with totes and repair totes as needed
  • Start printers and sort tickets and labels by zone
  • Operate equipment for outbound functions
  • Keep the work area neat and clean and dispose of cardboard and trash properly
  • Train new team members by explaining job duties and procedures
  • Maintain safety standards and identify unsafe practices
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
