Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1-3 months of cashiering experience
- Ability to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and coworkers
- Meet Scheels dress and grooming standards
- Demonstrate pride and ownership of work while meeting deadlines
- Genuinely treat coworkers, customers, and business partners with respect
- Arrive to work and meetings 10 minutes early
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math, grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1-3 months of cashiering experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math including rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
- Demonstrates attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments
- Eagerness to learn and accept feedback
Job Duties
- Greet all customers when entering and exiting the store
- Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and be able to clearly explain all benefits
- Accurately balance cash drawer at the end of the day
- Maintain a clean working environment and personal workspace
- Engage in conversation with the customer to add a personal touch to each and every transaction
- End each transaction by saying thank you to every customer
- Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
- Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
