Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • janitor or custodian experience preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • physical ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs
  • ability to push, pull, reach over the shoulder
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • reliable transportation

Job Duties

  • Pick up trash as needed and empty trash receptacles
  • perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning cobwebs, wiping down surfaces, and restroom cleaning
  • clean exterior surfaces of windows, windowsills, and doors
  • remove and/or clean up debris or soil such as stickers, chewing gum, coffee spills, and graffiti
  • continuously walk the property to inspect all public areas for cleanliness
  • notify the supervisor of any needed repairs
  • wear appropriate safety equipment for tasks including gloves, goggles, and safety vest
