Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in grounds maintenance or custodial duties
- Knowledge of landscaping equipment use and maintenance
- Ability to perform minor repairs including plumbing and painting
- Must comply with chemical handling laws and safety regulations
- Ability to operate landscaping power tools proficiently
- Good communication skills to interact with staff and administration
- Physical ability to perform outdoor manual tasks including lifting and bending
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or custodial work
- Knowledge of landscaping equipment and maintenance
- Familiarity with basic plumbing and painting
- Ability to operate power tools such as blowers and saws
- Knowledge of HAZMAT regulations and safety data sheets
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems
- Physical capability to perform manual labor
Job Duties
- Maintain the general appearance of the exterior grounds by following maintenance schedules
- Sweep, rake, and blow sidewalks, parking lot, and common areas to keep free of debris
- Empty exterior trash cans and pick up exterior trash
- Ensure exterior play areas and equipment are safe
- Prune shrubs and trees to shape and promote healthy growth
- Spray lawn areas with herbicides for weed control
- Maintain landscaping equipment and demonstrate proficiency with tools
- Power wash sidewalks, building exteriors, and fencing
- Perform interior and exterior paint touch-ups
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems
- Rake rock areas for uniform appearance
- Support driveline safety by setting up cones and signs
- Comply with chemical handling laws and safety regulations
- Interact professionally with school administration
- Set up rooms for meetings and events including cafeteria
- Assist with building security by locking/unlocking doors and gates
- Perform routine maintenance tasks like bulb and filter changes
- Notify management of material needs and major repairs
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining school facilities
- Follow HAZMAT regulations and Safety Data Sheets
- Perform other duties as assigned
