Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Must pass background checks
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 40 lbs
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
Basic physical fitness for emergencies
Ability to move quickly within work environments
Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
Clear vision with or without correction
Ability to differentiate color-coded signs and labels
Ability to work in varied temperature environments
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Ability to work in environments with elevated noise levels wearing hearing protection
Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel when required

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
Customer service experience preferred
Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
Strong communication skills to work with clients and team members
Ability to follow safety, security, and quality standards
Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage
Dust and wash furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
Clean ceilings and polish light fixtures
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment manually or with hand trucks
Remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using appropriate chemicals
Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
Clean and vacuum carpeted areas including spot cleaning
Gather and empty trash
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
Service and supply restrooms
Clean overhead vents, dust blinds, polish wood furniture
Clean interior glass, windows, partitions, and mirrors
Set up and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding for events
Maintain janitor’s closet neat and orderly
Requisition cleaning supplies and equipment
Monitor building security and safety by locking doors and checking appliances
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
