Job Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from customers and others
- Ability to utilize a wide array of custodial chemicals
- Ability to safely operate custodial equipment including vacuum, backpack vacuum, and cardboard bailer
- Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English
- Computer literacy to use business software, the internet, enter data, and retrieve data
- Human relations skills to build effective working relationships
- Demonstrated customer service, problem solving and common sense skills
- One or more years of custodial work experience

Job Duties
- Clean, dust, and wipe furniture
- Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors
- Empty and clean wastebaskets, trash containers and cigarette urns
- Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
- Refill restroom dispensers
- Clean cafeteria and breakroom areas
- Stock utensils, napkins, plates, cups, coffee and related supplies
- Make coffee and/or set up snacks for events
- Assist with the setup for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
- Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies
- Use as directed
- Wash accessible interior and exterior windows
- Clean blinds
- Responds to customer requests for cleaning spills and other emergency clean-ups according to established procedures
- Responds to customer requests for service such as cleaning locked offices not serviceable at night
- Monitors inventory of cleaning supplies
- Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs using hand-operated tools or small power equipment
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis
- Attend safety meetings and other related meetings
- Take classes as required in cleaning methods and techniques, new products
- Handle recycling materials
- Call in work orders
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
