Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, trade, technical, or vocational school
  • Some related experience
  • Ability to travel between properties
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and consistently
  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends on call
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals safely
  • Must be reliable, thorough, and observant

Job Duties

  • Daily interior cleaning of the building including emptying waste receptacles, debris and trash removal, vacuuming/shampooing floors and carpets, dusting and cleaning furniture, cleaning and restocking restrooms, washing walls, polishing, mopping floors, placing down mats/runners in inclement weather, cleaning up spills, cleaning windows and window coverings
  • May be required to perform exterior building and premises cleaning and basic maintenance including exterior walls and windows, parking lots and structures, walkways and paths, gardens and lawns, outdoor furnishings, pools/fountains/spas, curbs/gutters, exterior hallways and stairwells
  • May be directed to assist with minor maintenance and repair work including painting, replacement of light bulbs and fixtures (interior and exterior), replacement of windows, moving furniture and equipment, repairing doors and gates, minor landscaping and related upkeep and repairs, simple plumbing and fixture repairs/replacements
  • Other assigned duties may include gardening and lawn care, assisting with inventory control and supply ordering, snow removal (including salting/sanding), and assisting with tenant moves
  • Notify management promptly of spills and emergency situations, need for building/facility repairs, lights out or broken, broken equipment and fixtures, damaged structures, ruptured pipes/plumbing, heating/cooling/ventilation problems and other safety issues
  • Properly and safely use and operate cleaning equipment, tools, devices, and chemical agents to perform duties efficiently and safely
