Job Requirements

  • must have reliable transportation
  • less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read 2-3 syllable words recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
  • ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • ability to communicate effectively with co-workers supervisors managers and customers
  • know how to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
  • know the American measures of money weight size length shapes distance and measures such as cups pints quarts gallons etc
  • required to have a valid driver's license if driving own vehicle or company vehicle on business time with proof of vehicle registration and insurance

Job Duties

  • floor care including vacuuming mopping and carpet spotting
  • surface care such as dusting sanitizing glass mirror window cleaning metal wood polishing and cleaning blinds and draperies
  • waste removal including emptying trash and recycle bins and transporting trash and waste to proper disposal areas
  • light maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs and restocking supply cabinets or rooms
  • comply with safety rules policies and procedures
  • follow all protocols company procedures policies and rules
  • take direction and respond to supervision
  • use proper personal protective equipment
  • present a professional appearance and conduct
  • understand reporting systems and environment
  • transport small equipment tools chairs and tables and straighten areas such as lobbies and conference rooms
  • clean drop in desktops assist janitorial staff with restocking restrooms and break rooms
  • perform damp mopping floors restroom cleaning glass cleaning restock and organize supplies in janitorial closets and storage areas
  • clean elevators spot clean upholstered furniture and carpets and dust open common spaces
