Job Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read 2-3 syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
  • Ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • Basic math skills including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying/dividing by 10s and 100s
  • Knowledge of American standard measures such as money, weight, size, length, and volume
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance required if driving a vehicle on business

Job Duties

  • Perform floor care including vacuuming, mopping, and carpet spotting
  • Clean surfaces by dusting, sanitizing, and polishing glass, metal, wood, blinds, and draperies
  • Remove waste by emptying trash and recycle bins and transporting waste to disposal areas
  • Conduct light maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and restocking supply areas
  • Comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures, stopping risk behavior
  • Follow company protocols, policies, and rules precisely
  • Take direction and respond appropriately to supervision
  • Use proper personal protective equipment
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct at all times
  • Understand and utilize reporting systems
  • Transport small equipment, tools, chairs, and tables
  • Assist janitorial staff in restocking restrooms and break rooms
  • Clean elevators, spot clean upholstered furniture and carpets, and dust open common areas
  • Perform additional cleaning duties during downtime such as wiping desktops and organizing janitorial closets
