Job Requirements

  • valid driver’s license if driving on business

Job Qualifications

  • must have reliable transportation
  • less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read two to three syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
  • ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • effective communication skills with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • basic math skills including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying and dividing by tens and hundreds
  • knowledge of American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance and volume measures such as cups, pints, quarts, and gallons
  • valid driver’s license required if driving company or personal vehicle on business time
  • bilingual skills are a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • perform floor care tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, and carpet spotting
  • clean and maintain surfaces including dusting, sanitizing, window and glass cleaning, polishing metal and wood surfaces, and cleaning blinds and draperies
  • remove waste by emptying trash and recycling bins and transporting waste to proper disposal areas
  • carry out light maintenance including replacing light bulbs and restocking supply cabinets or rooms
  • comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures and address risk behaviors
  • follow company protocols, policies, and procedures precisely
  • take direction and respond to supervision effectively
  • use proper personal protective equipment at all times
  • present a professional appearance and conduct
  • understand reporting systems and maintain the environment
  • transport small equipment and furniture, straighten common areas, and maintain cleanliness of lobbies and conference rooms
  • assist janitorial staff with cleaning tasks during downtime, including restroom and break room cleaning, glass cleaning, elevator cleaning, spot cleaning upholstered furniture and carpets, dusting open spaces, and organizing janitorial supplies
