Job Description

Located in Lincoln, Nebraska, the SGEC is a vibrant organization dedicated to hosting a wide range of local and regional events that bring communities together. Job Requirements

must be at least 19 years old due to alcohol serving laws
must obtain liquor server/seller permit and prep cook food handlers license from local authorities
licenses cost initially paid by employee and reimbursed after six months of service with minimum 20 hours per month
previous experience may be certified after hire and eligible for additional pay
willingness to work extended and irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
able to lift 50 pounds periodically
able to work on feet entire shift

honest, trustworthy, reliable and flexible
agriculture, animal, 4-h, ffa, rodeo or nature background or interest preferred
prior cook or food service experience preferred
willingness to learn and work hard providing professional, friendly service to diverse guests
positive attitude with strong work ethic and attention to detail
ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively
ability to work well under pressure
willingness to work during events that involve animals and outdoor environments
ability to lift 50 pounds periodically and to stand entire shifts

Job Duties

food preparation and service in accordance with health department regulations and guidelines
correctly operate all food service equipment
follow proper food handling procedures
bartending
cash handling including accurate counting of start-up and ending cash drawers
use of clover/pos systems and etix software on provided ipads to sell food, beverage, general store services and event tickets
merchandise and supply restocking and facility upkeep
