Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
  • Have good communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Possess working knowledge of personnel and financial reports
  • Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform cleaning and sanitizing duties
  • Ability to operate various department equipment
  • Physical ability to stand and transfer items as specified
  • Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment
  • Possess working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
  • Show outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards team members and customers
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitizing work areas such as tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, and freezer
  • Be able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously during an 8-hour shift
  • Be capable of vertically transferring trays up to 5 lbs from 7" to 64" and transferring items up to 40 lbs for distances up to 36 feet without mechanical assistance
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Give direction to clerks in the department while overseeing the presentation and sanitation standards of the Dairy Department on the sales floor and backroom cooler
  • Process and stock products according to Sprouts dairy standards
  • Deliver outstanding customer service
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department
  • Control inventory to recommended stock levels by using proper ordering techniques to maximize sales and minimize stock loss
  • Ensure proper rotation of products to control freshness and remove out-of-code items
  • Manage price changes within the department
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
  • Attend and participate in in-store meetings regularly
  • Recruit, hire, and make promotion or transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
  • Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns
  • Take and document corrective actions including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when necessary
  • Create and adjust schedules and staffing to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
  • Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality product, highest level of service, and greatest customer experience
