Job Requirements

High school diploma preferred but not required
six months experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment preferred
ability to squat, kneel, bend, stoop, reach above the shoulders, and lift up to 40 lbs
ability to stand and walk for extended periods
ability to tolerate noisy, hot, humid, and cold environments
ability to push food carts weighing more than 100 lbs
ability to handle detergents and cleaning chemicals
willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends
strong verbal communication skills in English
ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
must practice proper personal hygiene
punctuality and regular attendance
ability to work effectively in a team
detail oriented

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Learn, practice, and mentor fellow artists in the 5 core competencies central to OTF training
perform thorough set-up and break-down of mechanical dish machines
wash, rinse, dry, and store all kitchen and dining room equipment and utensils
wash and detail pots, pans, and kitchen items using the 3-sink cleaning method
perform daily cleaning of floors including sweeping and mopping
maintain cleanliness and appearance of kitchens, foodservice areas, and storage rooms including refrigeration
assist culinary artists with food preparation including entrees, starches, vegetables, soups, side dishes, desserts, breakfast items
assist during meal service periods
comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and Dining Arts department protocols
maintain personal appearance and hygiene standards
protect confidentiality of sensitive information following HIPAA guidelines
participate in all scheduled in-service training programs
report hazardous conditions, equipment repair needs, and facility maintenance issues
attend department meetings
assist with orientation of new employees
improve communication within the department
perform duties with attention to detail and accuracy
work overtime, holidays, and weekends as assigned
interface professionally with residents and personnel
uphold the corporate culture of warmth, caring, and excellence
apply sanitation, food-borne illness, and cross-contamination prevention policies
use cleaning chemicals and handle hazardous materials safely
honor resident and employee rights
adhere to department policies and procedures
perform other duties as assigned
