Job Description
This position is based at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, within the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) division, specifically under the Child and Youth Services (CYS) department. MWR programs are designed to support the well-being, morale, and recreational needs of military personnel, their families, and the civilian workforce. Fort Sill is a prominent United States Army post known for its commitment to training and supporting military operations. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health and immunizations including annual influenza vaccination
- Must pass Child Care Tier 1 background investigation
- Must complete employment verification (E-Verify)
- Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements
- Must be able to work with computers, peripherals, software, and common hand and electrical tools
- Must complete a one-year probationary period if required
- Direct deposit and social security card required
- Must demonstrate satisfactory performance and complete required training
- Failure to achieve desired training and competence may result in separation
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate in English verbal and written
- Be 18 years of age at time of employment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis
- Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease
- Knowledge and demonstrated skill in Microsoft Windows and applications using the internet including email, searching, web page design, and network computing
- Possess a professional certificate or higher related to computer science/information technology or 24 months of experience working in the related field
- Resumes must be two pages or less and clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities
Job Duties
- Responsible for the operation of the Child and Youth Services (CYS) Technology Lab in accordance with applicable regulations
- Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities for program participants
- Creates a positive environment in CYS Technology Lab that includes appropriate materials and supplies to supplement computer software programs and Internet access
- Provides supervision, oversight, and accountability for program participants
- Ensures computer, peripherals, and software are maintained in good condition and working order
- Troubleshoots CYS hardware, printers, scanners, servers and software
- Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques
- Promotes and role models safety, fitness, health and nutrition practices
- Trains children/youth in use of equipment and software programs
- Ensures assigned area achieves and maintains standards for DoD/Army certification and national accreditation or Army equivalent
